Author Biography
Boris Uspenskii is a Russian linguist, semiotician and historian of culture. Member of the Tartu-Moscow semiotic school, he worked in several university (i.e. Harvard University, Cornell University, Naples Eastern University). Among his works: Structural Typology of Languages, The Semiotic of Russian Culture (with Iu. Lotman), Towards a History of the Russian Literary Language (XI-XVII centuries), Semiotics of Art.
