Zara Minc (1927-1990) was one of the most prominent scholars dealing with Russian symbolism. A member of the Tartu-Moscow Semiotic School, she worked at the University of Tartu and wrote several seminal essays, focusing especially on the poet Aleksandr Blok. Some of her most important essays were collected in three posthumous volumes (Blok i russkij simvolizm, Sankt-Peterburg 1999-2004).
